Well it looks like our old friend, Randy Sebastian, that uber-smarmy house peddling creep from Oregon City, is going belly up. Although he will be allowed to "reorganize" under Chapter 11 protection, I have a feeling that the boy is toast. He claims in a letter to local realtors that he will be conducting "business as usual." Hey Randy, you still gonna be giving away those cutesy little pocket Mercedes? I've had the misfortune of meeting the guy and all I can say is, it couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.
I'm truly sorry for the people that this will effect in a negative way.

Randy Sebastian and his Company provide not only provide a quality product, but also supply good paying jobs. I never like to see a local company having trouble. I am sure they will be just fine when this is all over!
I have had the opportunity to meet Randy at some local events. I would have to say he is a very updstanding citizen. The homes he builds are pretty nice themselves! See you at the Street of Dreams Renaissance Homes!!

Randy is a great guy and Renaissance builds the best homes!!! They have and will continue to be successful for another 24 yrs! I hear they will be emerging from bankruptcy by the end of the year! Glad to see local business pulling through these challenging times!

Have you ever heard of a democracy, capitalism, or urban development? Similar to many large Oregon home builders, 5-10 years ago Randy saw an oppurtunity not only in Central Oregon but bend especially, which is why he decided to build large developments there. Is he a bad guy now because he hired a lot of folks and spent a lot of money? Do you realize how incredibly incompetent you sound by making such an un-intellectual comment? As an American, just as you do, Randy has the right to freedom. The freedom to own his own company, make his own decisions, and build homes where he want's too. If you don't like America, then get the f*ck out.
Nope, never heard of those things. And no, Randy is not a bad guy now because he hired some folks, and spent some money. Those are great things and I wish he'd do some more of it.
As far as freedom goes, where the fuck did that come from? Randy (and you) are free to do whatever the fuck you want. I don't give a shit. He can lift weights, and look at himself in the mirror, and be a smarmy fuck all he wants. And you can chase him around and wipe the sweat up behind him.

the homes are the same as all of the others, his homes were a little nicer ,but you paid for it, same Mexicans built renaissance homes as built centex homes. glad to see randy is doing ok, as i know, personally two sub-contractors of his that lost theirs homes and everything else cause he still owes them over $100,000 .that he will never pay. Sebastian is a cocksucker....before and after the recession.....if you don't know that , well then... you don't know him.
Randy managed to put a carpet company under and put large dents in two door companies. I am sure there are many more companies he hurt with his lack of business knowledge and easy bankruptsey. Over 140,000 dollars. Now he is back building like nothing happened. Good luck to his sub contractors. Now that he is back building houses he should have to pay back everyone he cheated. That won't happen. Guy is a loser.

Beautiful high quality homes, nicest new construction in the Portland area. The only home builder I would hire. He was hit with unfortunate times like everyone else, he has been a great employer and has helped build the economy in Portland. It is unfortunate that the economy has effected his business and that it has caused others to suffer. He has done the best he can as would any of us in the business world. He could have shut the doors, he did not. He has tried to pay back others the best he can. I think this is commendable and is taking the high road. He could have declared bankruptcy and walked away from everything.
As one of Renaissance's subcontractor's for many years I can say. Yes, I lost alot of money when Renaissance filed reorganization but, I also made alot of money from Renaissance in the good years and I hope to again in the future. Last week I received my 2 check (on the back stuff) since the reorganization. Granted it was not much but, they did not give up. They are trying to pay us all back. I still work for Renaissance and they have always paid on time since filing for reorganization.

I owned a company that did business with Randy Sebastard. Those subs that say they made a lot of money in the good times with him and are ok with what he did are assholes. You always had to discount so he could get his cut so the margins weren't great and they wanted your attention whenever and wherever. I sat in his bankruptcy court hearing and his narcissism filled the courtroom. I find it hard to believe that any subs would ever do business with him and find it even harder that there is anyone that would buy from him. I had three clients that he had sign on their closings or they would be penalized and then were all hit with liens from the subs who weren't getting paid. I had already custom built things for their homes that I ended up giving them because I felt it wasn't their fault that their builder had royally screwed them. I couldn't sell it to anyone else anyways so why not alleviate someone else's pain. Upstanding citizen my ass. It was great to hear him tell the judge that he had sold his private jet and cut his monthly pay to $60k all the while driving small business owners out of business. The difference is the fact that Randy didn't have to file bankruptcy because people owed him money, he filed because he had lived an extravagant life and over extended. His subs had to file bankruptcy because they were the ones owed money for services and goods they provided to Randy Sebastard. He even had the audacity to take his management team on a drinking and fishing expedition to Cabo just months before he filed. So I agree with those who have dropped names such as cocksucker, fuck, and whatever else you want to call him unless you are calling him upstanding. By the looks of him today he has used some of those funds on steroids and no longer has a cock to suck. I only wish the public who buy his homes were better informed about the individual they are purchasing from.
